Fiba Approved Parquet Systems

The most commonly used solid parquet types in Fiba approved sports hall floors are black maple and sugar maple, which are much harder than other maple species when classified. They have very frequent lines similar to teak and white oak. High strength, compressed inner surface, solid structure, non-bending, high strength and high density. It is extremely resistant. Therefore, it is used for basketball courts, bowling sports areas and other multi-purpose sports floors. Maple is a hard and tight tree. It is homogeneous. It is easily processed. It has a flexible and quite concave structure. The amount of shrinkage, which is often seen in wood, is at a minimum level. However, it has a tendency to crack. It is very sensitive to humid environments and rots easily in humid environments. It can harbor insects and microorganisms under unfavorable conditions. For this reason, as long as it is applied in suitable weather conditions, at suitable humidity rates and on surfaces with a moisture level that is purified, an extremely healthy result is obtained.

In the area where parquet will be laid, the parquets should be placed in the space at least 2 weeks before the installation date. This is important for adaptation to the ambient temperature. If the parquets are packaged in nylon, they must be removed from their packaging. The smoothness of the floor on which the parquet will be laid should be checked. The dryness of the floor on which the parquet will be laid should be checked, and the parquets should not be laid before the ground reaches the desired dryness rate. Humidity rates of 6-12% on average in concrete are suitable. During application; the ambient temperature where the parquet will be applied should not be less than 15 C.

After the flooring process is completed, scraping and polishing should not be done without waiting at least 2 weeks. During this waiting period, nylon sheeting should never be used to protect the parquet surface. A 6 mm thick PE mattress will be laid on the floor as a moisture preventer and the joints will be taped with a special tape (duc tape). 19 mm (3/4) thick special proflex rubber shock absorber wedges will be mounted on plywood boards made of pine, spruce or hardwood with a thickness of 12 mm and dimensions of 1.22x2.44 cm -1.25x2.50 cm, as 32 pieces per board. The 12 mm thick and 1.22x2.44 m pine, spruce or hardwood boards will be mounted on the lower floor boards with the help of special staples in 2 layers. 20 mm (25/32) thick 38 mm or 57 mm wide first quality imported hart maple (solid maple parquet) will be mounted on the plywood layer with special nails and an air gun. It will be done, the parquet will be scraped using 40-60-80 and 120 number sandpaper. When the 80 number sandpaper is finished, the necessary paste will be made with parquet dust and the places requiring filling will be filled. After the filling process, the floor will be scraped with 120 grit sandpaper and cleaned carefully. A towel must be used in this cleaning process. The polyurethane primer polish layer will be applied on the cleaned floor with a special rake or roller. After the first layer of polyurethane primer polish, a buffing process will be done with a special machine and special sandpaper and the floor will be cleaned carefully and cleaned of sandpaper dust. The game lines (Basketball and Volleyball, Handball) will be drawn with special paint. After the lines are drawn, 2 layers of polyurethane polish will be reapplied with a special rake or roller.

The documents showing that the imported Maple solid parquet to be used is imported and the documents showing its compliance with the standards must be presented to the administration before the parquet application process begins.
